Flyday follows 26th century journalist Thomas Huxley as he deals with a most unusual situation—the assassination of a world leader, when his fiancée’s brother is the accused killer. And just when he thinks things can’t get worse, Thomas finds himself contacted by time traveler Ariel Midori, who wants to know why police have been invading her timeline—and mentioning his name.
His fiancée, Zoë, is distressed by news that her brother could be executed. Thomas begins to suspect a cover-up. There’s no physical evidence linking the suspect to the crime, just a confession … but to get to the truth, Thomas must deal with a washed-up rock star, a lieutenant on the lookout for time travelers, and an assassin watching their every move.

I just finished "Flyday" and decided that I absolutely must review this story, it was too good not to. First let me admit that I don't normally read time-travel type books. For some reason the idea makes me uncomfortable and I just don't like them - but I am so glad I tried this one. Laura E. Bradford definitely has writing talent.I'll admit the story had me scratching my head a few times over the time travel experiences and the mystery of who was a good guy and who was a bad guy, but it all came clear before the end. And it was so worth reading. I'm a person who generally hates cliff-hangers and I worried about that since "Flyday" is a series, but there was good closure by the end of book one. I won't give away any details, but trust me, there was good closure and I'm very satisfied with the ending. Actually, if I stopped reading the series right now I'd still feel like it was a good story. That said, I fully intend to get the next book when it comes out to see what happens next. Yeah, I'm hooked!
Flyday" was very well written. I loved the main characters, even the old burned-out rock star. Actually, for some reason I kept picturing Bill Nighy playing Billy Mack from "Love Actually," every time he was in the story and I loved him in that movie. There were a few typos in the book but not enough to bother me. I do plan to read it again, if that tells you anything.
Anyway, I want you to know that I highly recommend this book. In fact, I just found a book called, "Sunset on Mars," by this same author that I'm going to buy right now. That's how impressed by Ms. Bradford's writing!

I just re-read this book before I started Bradford's new sequel, "Saturnine," and wanted to say again how much I loved this story. I'm so disappointed that only 12 people have reviewed "Flyday." There are a very few typos in my version, but it is such a good story. I wish I could get the word out better, because Bradford is very talented. I mean, it's about TIME TRAVEL and I still liked it! That's unbelievable! I'm heading over to the "Saturnine" page now to also review it. (Hint: It's just as good as "Flyday!")

Flyday Flyday series Book 1 eBook Laura E Bradford Reviews
The author writes readable sentences, but the story was too implausible to accept, and the characters cycled through periods of unexplained stupidity, naivite', heroism, and completely illogical and mysterious choices.
I haven't given a review in a while but this book deserves one. Reminiscent of the Time Travelers Wife it has interesting characters that kept me reading. The time travel concepts weren't presented in a confusing manner and made for simplified reading. There were a few typos but nothing major.
This is an enjoyable read with a complex plot that slowly unfolds around usually invisible time travelers moving through a monarchy from the past. Secret police, rock stars, and regular people intermix to make it interesting. An easy piece to consume.
I liked the book, but was a little confused about the time travel time-line at times...but that's probably just me. I recommend this book for those who like science fiction, mysteries, etc. This book contains both and keeps you guessing about what's happening next.
Unlike some time travel books, this one held my interest as characters traveled to unexpected places to do unexpected things. The plot was surprising, and the loose ends beg for more appearances for the characters and more involvement in the "history" of the future. I wait with bated breath for the next book and put the author up with Jim Butcher and Simon Green in creating characters I want to see more of.
This was a really good time travel story. Just enough ways that the story kept you it. It also found imaginative ways to get the primary time travel to start time traveling again after being strapped of the ability to travel. A good number of twists and turns that were perfect. I would recommend this one to my friends.
Flyday is a delightful, fast-paced, fun first novel, combining time-travel and intrigue with timeless themes of love, friendship and family. Laura Bradford has created believable, likeable characters, many of whom are admirably strong women. Readers will likely look forward to following them through future stories. Ms. Bradford effectively avoids getting bogged down in lengthy descriptions or speculations about the future of technology, government, global concerns, etc. and steadfastly focuses on the story at hand, while setting the stage for promising future episodes. - Elisha McCulloh
